Nestled in the heart of Lemont, Illinois, Nick's Tavern offers a timeless bar experience that effortlessly combines nostalgia with contemporary charm. Established in 1945, this classic neighborhood bar has earned its reputation as a beloved local gem, drawing in patrons with its impressive array of beverages and hearty American cuisine.

As you step inside, the warm ambiance welcomes you with open arms. The walls whisper stories of its rich history while the friendly staff immediately make you feel at home. Whether you’re looking to unwind after a long day or kick off a night out with friends, Nick's Tavern is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a true local experience.

The menu might be simple, but it’s crafted with care, and everything shines with authentic flavor. The star of the show is undoubtedly their legendary burgers. Choose from various options, including the famously hefty one-pound “Nick burger” or its smaller version, "little Nick," which still packs a punch with juicy, hand-made patties that are anything but bland. Pair your burger with ice-cold beers like Miller Lite or craft selections like Blue Moon and Stella Artois—each priced incredibly reasonably, ensuring you can enjoy quality without breaking the bank.

And don’t miss out on the delightful sides! Customers rave about the warm pretzel sticks served with a delectable honey mustard dip and the unique gravy bread that takes comfort food to another level. As for drinks, the Bloody Mary, crafted with care and garnished with bacon, has garnered enthusiastic praise for being both flavorful and satisfying.

But it’s the genuine community spirit that truly sets Nick's Tavern apart. Guests frequently mention how the staff—notably the wonderfully friendly bartender—create a welcoming environment that fosters camaraderie amongst patrons. According to Carl Day, “Beers and food are very reasonably priced,” making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.

So grab your friends, and arrive early to beat the lunchtime rush—this tavern fills up quickly with enthusiastic regulars eager to indulge in their favorite meals. Whether you’re a lifelong resident of Lemont or just passing through, a trip to Nick’s Tavern promises an unforgettable experience steeped in flavor, friendliness, and fun.

In summary, Nick’s Tavern isn’t just a bar; it’s a vibrant community hub where locals gather, stories are shared, and every visit feels like coming home. Be sure to make it a stop on your next culinary journey through Lemont.

Great local run restaurant. Burgers are not some frozen bland burger, but tasty hand made. Just remember there is no fries and it’s cash only here. Beers and food are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

My brother brought us here for the lunch hour and delicious food. My son has a love of good burgers and Nick's has made his list of great burgers in Illinois. We got there ahead of the lunch crowd. And the locals do gather there regularly so best to get there around 11am for your lunch. Even if it gets a bit crowded, the atmosphere is wonderful and welcoming from staff and patrons, so you'll have a good experience regardless. Sports memorabilia and days gone by on display in a neighborhood tavern setting. Bar and video gambling available. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly and their food is made with love (his burger even had a heart shaped put of ketchup because he told them he loves hamburgers and cheeseburgers). Half pound and full poud cheeseburgers, reuben and pretzel sticks all recommend The kids got a special treat of ice cream sandwiches post meal and had huge smiles! Thank you for making their day! Whether youre traveling through or local, and haven't discovered this hidden gem on Main Street in Lemont, make sure you add it to you must try burger list!

We were finally able to get to Nick's and try their famous burger! We started out with a Bloody Mary and Yuengling beer. Our bartender Jen made it so delish and it came with bacon! Tried the Warm Pretzel Sticks and while we are not typically fans of mustard, this was honey mustard and we both liked it. On to the burger...we ordered the little Nick as the regular is a whole 1lb burger. They don't do fries so I re-lived my childhood and went with Andy Capp Cheddar Fries. The burger was cooked perfectly with grilled onions and with the pickles was definitely one of the best burgers I've had. Cute little place. They only accept cash, with signs everywhere and have an ATM inside.

It's all in what you are looking for, but Nick's checked all the boxes for me. Classic neighborhood bar, pure T red blooded America lovin, cash only joint that just does it right. Great friendly service and a really solid simple menu with some gems. I had the Italian Beef sandwich with spicy peppers. Paper thin beef that nearly melts in your mouth, and a nice ajus dipping sauce. Skip the bun and get an extra side of peppers. You'll love it. One of the gems is the warm pretzel sticks, wow. Salty, buttery, warm with that ideal pretzel tang. Go for the cheese sauce, it can't be good for you but it is just plain good. Fantastic music mix, Petty, Floyd, Cage the Elephant, Chris Stapleton, Eagles.... loud enough to enjoy but not so loud you have to yell. Pick an evening when you can sit outside and enjoy people watching in Lamount, it's hard to beat. And yes they are a bar and had a solid menu of beers, most importantly for a meal like this, Guinness. Cheers and God Bless America!

Nick’s is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Sam is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing burger. Must come back. 10/10.

Stopped by here for lunch, solid Burger, although it seems to be seasoned with some kind of onion or onion powder which I feel took away from it a bit, but it was basically the size of a plate, came with chips. It was a pretty solid value for how much food you got. Beers were cold, pretty affordable. Overall a pleasant springtime experience

It's a great old school tavern that started in 1945. Original owner sold it but the current owners kept the same flare that had been there forever. Staff is great food is great music was great. Historic Lamont tavern that you should visit.

A great little neighborhood pub with amazing food! Everyone raves about the burgers, and I agree. But my suggestion is that you get the grilled cheese with bacon added! Also, do not pass up the gravy bread! Thank me later :)
